We celebrate the amazing work of Women in Coffee

Their coffees coming soon!

In the coffee sector women are underrepresented and are struggling with lack of education, credits, land tenure, health access, domestic and gender-based violence (GVB) violence, and participation on decision making structures. However, women in rural food-producing businesses are shifting social, economic and environmental practices for good. For us, gender equality in the sustainable supply chain is key.  That is the reason to highlight their amazing work as entrepreneurs.

Many women are behind Kairós’ coffees. Also, we are happy to know the work of these three group of women comprising around over 600 people in three different coffee production regions in Colombia: Association of Women Coffee Growers of West of Huila; Association of Women Coffee Growers of the Department of Cauca (AMUCC); and Association of Women Growers in Filandia, Quindío. They are adding especial value to the value chain producing and roasting coffee at origin and developing local initiatives amongst their communities.
